World of Warcraft - Classes and Roles



Players in World of Warcraft pick a class as they start to play and it assumes one of three roles within the game. Tanks try to get the attention of any enemy involved in a combat in order to let them hit the avatar featuring the thickest armour and best evasive capabilities. Healers save them from dying by spells restoring their health pool while DPS classes work on killing the opponents. This scenario holds in player versus environment (PVE) situations. If players contest each other, the Tank role gets dropped.
